As the countdown to the grand opening begins, here’s a sneak peek of what to expect:

“Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge:” This all-new, technologically-advanced ride, inspired by the popular Mario Kart™ video game series, will seamlessly fuse cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) with projection mapping technology and actual set pieces along a moving ride track. Set against a multi-sensory backdrop of color, sound and movement, guests will be seated in stadium-style, four-seat vehicles as they navigate familiar courses through the creative use and integration of head mounted AR goggles. This unique feature is a key point of differentiation that distinguishes this ride from other theme park attractions.

The premise of “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” is simple but equally inspiring and challenging, appealing to guests of all ages regardless of gaming experience. As part of Team Mario, guests will steer through underwater courses and courses in the clouds to compete for the Golden Cup while collecting coins to defeat Team Bowser and win. “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” raises the stakes for guests as an intriguing and repeatable ride with a variety of outcomes.

  • Mount Beanpole: This towering landmark sits at the heart of the land and also serves as the entry queue for “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.”
  • Bowser’s Castle: Adorned with a breathtaking sculpture of a large and powerful Bowser, this structure serves as a key centerpiece of the land, home to SUPER NINTENDO WORLD’s signature ride, “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.” As guests navigate the winding corridors and pass through the hall of medallions and trophies of the ominous castle towards the “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” ride, they will learn more about Bowser’s calculated plans to defeat Team Mario for the coveted Golden Cup.

Power-Up Band™: These wearable, state-of-the-art wristbands sync with Universal Studios Hollywood’s free downloadable app to level-up the guest experience within the land and enhance its many interactive elements. These include, but are not limited to, keeping individual and team scores, collecting digital coins and obtaining keys after winning challenges throughout the land. Power-Up Bands will also invite guests to enjoy extra-special interactions with Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach. They will come in six design options with character themes and will be available for purchase both within the land and at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD retail shops located in the theme park and on CityWalk. 

  • Interactive Gameplay: Within the land, guests will become fully engulfed in an engaging world of real-life gameplay, including punching ? Blocks to collect digital coins and a variety of interactives. They will discover a new dimension of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD via the interactive binoculars employing augmented reality technology positioned within the land. Guests can beat the four Key Challenges and collect keys from Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Piranha Plant and Thwomp interactive activities to ultimately allow access to the culminating boss battle with Bowser Jr.  These energetic, familiar and fun interactive games will further enhance the entire kinetic experience within the land and immerse guests into the unique world of Super Mario.
  • Toadstool Cafe™:  The land’s signature restaurant Toadstool Cafe will serve a gourmet menu perfected by Chef Toad where he will greet guests upon entry. Menu items prepared fresh daily include Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, Mario Bacon Cheeseburger, Luigi Pesto Chicken Burger, ? We are so fortunate to live in Southern California. The weather is like no other!

When I was a little girl, we loved to visit Wild Rivers in Irvine. My family was totally bummed when they closed on September 25, 2011. We are thrilled that they have relocated and have reopened this year. Wild Rivers is now bigger and better than ever before friends…

There is sooo much to do and enjoy at the new Wild Rivers in Irvine.

This all-new waterpark transports you to the 1940s South Pacific and pays homage to the original MCAS El Toro. The waterpark is about adventure, discovery, and amazing fun with 20 thrilling water rides and attractions on 20-acres, nearly double the size of the original Wild Rivers.

1. For my thrill seeker friends ride, Bora Bora Boomerango!

Climb aboard a raft to begin an adventure with several other sheilas and blokes. The experience starts by navigating a winding, open-air flume. However, don’t let the tame start fool you mate, as soon you’ll be accelerating towards an abyss where you and your mates are left to plummet down a ripper drop to face a giant wall.

2. Ride Torguga!

Guests in six-person rafts take high speed twists and turns down an enclosed serpentine flume and are injected into large Aquaspheres with exciting oscillations around 90-degree corners. But that’s not all – after the Aquaspheres, guests shoot though the tight corners and high-banking turns of the Constrictor before concluding their ride by splashing into a pool.

3. Enjoy some yummy food or a treats!

4. Take your little ones to Cook’s Cove!


Central to the kid’s play area and essential in any new waterpark, this will be one of the largest rain fortresses in the world with 77 activities that are safe and fun for young children, including an 800-gallon tipping water bucket and several slides into a shallow zero entry pool. This will engage the younger kids for hours with tons of fun.

5. Race your friends at Tomcat Racers.

Your experience starts as you slide face first into one of six fully-enclosed AquaTubes that begin a 360-degree downward spiral descent. In route the excitement builds with light shining in colorful patterns through the Aqualucent tubes. With your speed increasing as you descend, each of the tubes realign (about the riders being side-by side) to begin the open air finale…a six-lane, side-by-side, steep plunge into the run out.

6. Reserve a private Cabana!

Enjoy the amazing perks of reserving a cabana.Each cabana comes with two chaise lounges, two chairs, a table, and a safe with cell phone charging to secure your personal belongings.

7. Relax and enjoy Castaway River.

When it’s time to escape the wild at Wild Rivers the gentle flowing currents of Castaway River call. Your adventure begins from either of our zero-depth beach entry points.

Grab a tube or simply take the plunge into the gentle flow and let the currents do the work.

We spent so much time here!

This 1/3-mile-long float will have you drift beneath two pedestrian bridges and past various water features, like bubbling fountains, a water wheel, and the chance to get soaked by colorful water buckets.

You can swim in the currents or relax while floating atop one of our provided tubes. Since it’s an endless river you can keep your adventure on Castaway River going for as long as you’d like.

8. Shaka Bay Wave Pool

This six-person rafting experience offers a multitude of sensations with tighter turns, higher banks and steep drops into the 20-foot diameter MEGAtube™. Riders finish by entering the eye of the storm and a zigzagging decent of fast, near vertical, oscillations before entering the splashdown pool. Typhoon will be a guest favorite.

Park Tips

Make sure to bring your:

  • Pack a water bottle to rehydrate throughout the day. (they also sell them if you don’t want to carry one)
  • Be prepared to rent a locker. You will definitely need one for your personal belongings.
  • Bring money for food, beverages, or snacks. *note no food is allowed
  • Pack your towels
  • Bring your sunblock and reapply throughout the day.

10. Last but not least… Make memories with your loved ones!

Time is so precious, and time with our family and friends is priceless!

Last week, we raced to Paramount Pictures Studios to meet up with our friends for a PARTAY to celebrate, “Sonic the Hedgehog 2.” My family LOVES Sonic and we were thrilled to be a part of this special event, and watch this highly anticipated sequel before it’s official release April 8th. We were also really excited to be introduced to some new furry friends in the film.

About Knott’s Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival

The Knott’s Boysenberry Festival is our annual food-inspired event that celebrates the park’s historic roots by highlighting the little berry that started it all, the boysenberry. Guests will have the opportunity to indulge in a tantalizing lineup of dishes ranging from savory foods with a boysenberry twist to one-of-a-kind specialty desserts and drinks that you can only find at Knott’s Berry Farm during this time of the year. In addition to the numerous food and drink offerings, the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival offers a wide selection of local crafters, live music, musical stage shows and fun activities for guests of all ages to enjoy

3. Shop At the Craft Fair

Knott’s has the most adorable selection of unique gifts. Make sure to stroll and stop at the different booths and check out all the homemade crafts.

4. Pick Up Your Favorite Boysenberry Seasonings and Food Items

Again, I LOVE me some boysenberry. You will find some INCREDIBLE boysenberry flavored foods so you can enjoy the goodness all year round!

5. Enter A Pie Eating Contest!

  What is the craziest thing you have done? Try your berry best in a Boysenberry pie eating contest. Are you daring enough to do it? This is definitely on my bucket list!

6. Try The Boysenberry Beer!

Have you ever tried Boysenberry Beer? If, not you must try it. This yummy beer has a sweet kick to it. You can find it at the Wilderness Dance Hall Patio Booth. You will also find Boysenberry Wine, Prosecco, and Sangria!

7. Enjoy The Sensational Shows

Knott’s pays tribute to its past at the legendary Bird Cage Theatre with a special presentation of the brand-new comedy melodrama, Riverboat Revenge. All aboard for this boysenberry bon voyage!

                       •  Get in on the fun with some of the craziest and messiest games in Calico. Try your berry best in our Boysenberry Fun and Games, including the wildly entertaining Boysenberry Pie Eating Contest.

                       • Young ones and young at heart are invited to cozy up to the cutest critters on the farm, including horses, sheep, goats and other furry friends. Old MacDonald’s Barn pays tribute to one of the farm’s original attractions.

                       •    A classic returns! Travel back to the ’80s as you dance the night away to the decade’s best songs at Knott’s Totally Tubular 80’s Dance Party. 

                       • Pull up a chair as our blues trio, the Boysenberry Blues, conjures up some of the smoothest tunes performing at the Boardwalk BBQ patio.

                       •  You can also grab a seat (and a plate!) at Fireman’s BBQ, where various musical duos take the stage with a selection of bluegrass and country tunes, they will have your toes a-tappin’ and your hands a clappin’!

                       • Enjoy the sounds from South of the Border in Fiesta Village as the Mariachi Angelitas present a lively show filled with rich history and tradition.

                       • Grab a slice of history in our museum History of the Boysenberry dedicated to the berry that started it all!

Boomers In Irvine Now Open!

OC friends!

I am thrilled to announce that Boomers in Irvine is NOW open!

Boomers is one of our favorite local spots to take the kids. My family loves to spend time together, and this is one of the few places that we can do something that we all enjoy.

Last week, we took Boomers celebrated the reopening and we were thrilled to be a part of it . Our summer just got better…

Drew kept wiggling from excitement when we made our way up into the park entrance. Ok maybe I was too. lol

Yay! Andrew has graduated from the rookie kart track to the big boy Go Karts!

This is our first time back to boomers and Drew was ecstatic that for the first time he is able to ride the Thunder Road Go Karts on his own.

This kiddo was all smiles after he killed it on the course! Priceless…

Cirque Mei is coming to Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa September 14-15! Join us and share many jaw dropping moments while we watching some of China’s most sensational acrobats LIVE on stage.

Renowned acrobatic troupe Cirque Mei comes to Segerstrom Center for the Arts for two performances September 14 and 15 in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. From the People’s Republic of China, Cirque Mei brings a colorful celebration of traditional and contemporary Chinese circus acts. The company travels with a community of more than 130 circus performers who tour throughout China and the world performing many of the most popular Chinese circus routines, including hoops diving, Lion Dance, collective bicycle skills, flying meteors, foot juggling with umbrellas, female contortion and a ladder balancing act. 

About Cirque Mei

With a company of 40 elite circus artists and acrobats, these performances will include many of the most popular Chinese circus routines including Hoops Diving, Lion Dance, Collective Bicycle Skills, Flying Meteors, Foot Juggling with Umbrellas, Female Contortion, and Ladder Balancing Act.

Cirque Mei was founded in 1976 and supports a community of over 130 circus performers who tour throughout China and the world.

COMING to Legoland CA: The Lego Movie World!

The children ran gleefully towards the gate of Legoland, California. The boys, were in in for a treat when we made our way to their favorite theme park.

The LEGO Movie World will be added to Legoland park and opening 2020. The new park will be inspired The Lego Movie, and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. It’s the largest park addition in Legoland history! My son Andrew cheered in awe, as we learned more about Bricksburg.

Coming 2020 to LEGOLAND, California

In 2020 families will be able to experience Unikittys Disco Drop, Benny’s Play Ship, Masters of Flight, and Emmets Super Suite Apartment!

I know this will be a dream come true for all Lego Movie fanatics. My adorable nephews talked about their excitement for Unikittys Disco. They love Unikitty, because she’s undeniably fearless, and bold. Andrew is excited to meet Emmet; his favorite character! Other familiar faces will be featured in this park, such as Sweet Mayhem. As the children spoke about the upcoming addition, they were clearly in a whimsical mind of their own.

We always have a great time at LEGOLAND. Our beloved park keeps getting better and better! I can’t wait to bring my son and nephews for the years to come. Oh, and yes… we sang “Everything is Awesome” on my way home.
