Hi friends, I’m excited to share that Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration is back and better than ever! I grew up with the PEANUTS gang, and this celebration is very special for my familia. Charles M. Shulz’s comics are truly unique, and it is jaw dropping to see how Knott’s Berry Farm brings his comic strips ALIVE throughout our beloved theme park…

The photo-ops, themed treats, and the entertainment is sensational. For those of you that have not been, it’s a MUST! Take the entire family, and don’t miss this sensational celebration!

Now through March 6, 2022, guests can step into PEANUTS comic strips, as the gang takes over the entire park, with experiences that allow fans of all ages to play and interact with their favorite PEANUTS characters. The celebration also includes delicious PEANUTS-inspired food, reimagined live shows, new specially-themed décor, and the addition of a new friend to join in on all the fun.

Just in time for the holidays… Hawkeye, the limited series is coming to Disney Plus. This highly anticipated Marvel addition is bringing new talent to the screen (Kate Bishop). My kids and I are head over heals about streaming this over winter break. We are also stoked that Clinton Barton is back in the game…

Amigos, you don’t want to miss this action packed series! Below I have highlighted our favorite parts from the Hawkeye global conference. Read and enjoy!

SYNOPSIS

Two years after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Clint Barton must partner with Kate Bishop to confront enemies from his past as Ronin in order to get back to his family in time for Christmas.

BRANDON: And you also-you put them on the ground in New York city to film this. That brings an added level of authenticity, I think. Can you talk about that decision to film on location?

RHYS: I-you know, it’s-yeah, I mean, a-it’s, uh-New York’s very special to me anyway. I think, um, I was kind of a-a tyrant about, um, being as true to New York as we could. Um, nothing bugs me more than fake geography in movies, and-and, uh, fake texture and, uh-and so, yeah, d-I think it-it was given that we had to go there and-and get [our place in?]. It’s Christmas time in New York too. You want that real texture. Um, plus, we’ve got, you know, very human characters in the show as well, so I think anywhere that real world feel can-can breathe through the show, then, um, yeah, we had to take it.

BRANDON: I dig it. Uh, this comes from Jana Seltzer [PH], uh, with Whiskey Plus Sunshine, for Jeremy. Can you talk a little bit about Clint’s survival-survivor guilt from Avengers End Game and how it effects his character in the Hawkeye series?

JEREMY: Uh, you know, I-I don’t operate a, I guess, suppose it was survivor guilt outside just dealoss. Um, you know, there’s-and then, you know, there’s a lotta things that are lost. [LAUGH] You know what I mean? That’s-uh, it’s-it’s addressed in-in the show, which I think is, um-um, beautifully intimate. Um, and it brings our-our characters, um, closer together, um, as well as the audience, uh, I think. Um, there’s a-there’s a lotta weight that-that’s-that’s carried, you know. There’s-there might be a seemingly veneer of grumpiness, uh, in this resting face, right, in the show.

HAWKEYE – GLOBAL PRESS CONFERENCE [00:15:40]

ALL: [LAUGH]

JEREMY: But it ultimately comes from just the weight and the-the horrors, and the-the tragedies and loss that-that come with the game. It’s managing losses, uh, is-is the superhero game, and, um, the lightness and brightness that-that, um, Hailee’s character brings in, uh, it kinda counteracts that and-and comes in and kinda get it to level-level out some. So, it’s-it’s pretty cathartic, and I think quite beautiful.

Knott’s Berry Farm Reopens and Celebrates 100 Years

Oh how we have missed you Knott’s Berry Farm!

It’s been over a year since we have visited one of our favorite theme parks… Knott’s in Buena Park has reopened with a bang, as it celebrates 100 years of boysenberry magi!

The anniversary celebration runs through September 6, 2021. In accordance with current state guidelines, capacity will be limited and available to California residents only with reservations required for both single-day visits and Season Passholders.

10 Park Tips: A Touch Of Disney- Now Open

Hola Disney fans!

Who else is doing cartwheels because Disneyland and Disney California Adventure is opening up on April 30, 2021?!

As Disney Parks prepares for the reopening of the happiest place on earth on April 30th, they have given us a little treat leading up to the reopening. “A Touch of Disney” is taking place NOW through April 19th at Disney California Adventure. This unique experience allows Disney fans to see their favorite characters, dine, snack and shop!

When the invitation to, “A Touch of Disney” popped up in my inbox, I cried tears of joy and leaped off my chair. I have many beautiful childhood memories at the park with my parents, and I can’t help but to feel nostalgia when I visit. This is truly a Disney dream come true, and I am beyond grateful for this unbelievable opportunity.

My daughter Clarissa and I consider ourselves “foodies” and professional shoppers, so we were thrilled to be at the debut on March 18th! ¡Estábamos encantadas de visitar nuestro parque favorito después de tanto tiempo! (We were thrilled to visit our favorite theme park after all this time!)

Clarissa and I have put together a list of helpful tips to get the most out of your magical day at, “A Touch of Disney!”

Tip# 1

Visit the online Disney Parks Blog an Food Guide. The site provides a list of available restaurants and shops open during the event. This is a great starting point and resource to know what to expect during your visit.

Tip # 2

I highly recommend you download the Disneyland App on your smart phone. This will help your visit go smoothly. The app provides a map to navigate through the park, make restaurant reservations, and order treats while at the park!

Tip # 3

Prepare your itinerary ahead of time, to get the most out of the experience. Make a list of where you will be exploring, dining, and shopping!

Tip # 4

Pack a mask, hand sanitizer, wear comfortable walking shoes, and water to keep you hydrated. Disney California Adventure has taken extreme measures to keep visitors safe adhering to government CDC guidelines.

Temperatures are taken upon arrival. There are also several hand sanitations throughout the park. Look out for designated eating and drinking areas.

Tip # 5

Arrive on time to park your vehicle. The parking structure opens at 11:30 a.m. Keep in mind the trollies are not available, so you will be walking from the parking structure to the park entrance. This is why it is important to wear comfortable walking shoes.

The park has designed a pathway that helps with maintaining social distance. Note* The walk up to the entrance will take a little longer then usual.

  • Self-parking at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure is included with admission to A Touch of Disney.

Tip # 6

Enjoy a tasty lunch at Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill or at your favorite eatery of choice! I am a taco girl, and yes they were NOMMY! I also enjoyed the seasonal Piña Margarita on the rocks. SCORE!

  • A $25 A Touch of Disney Dining Card redeemable for food and nonalcoholic beverages at select dining locations within the Disneyland Resort (subject to restrictions including not being valid for alcohol purchases)*
  • Choose an arrival window that works for you, order food and beverages and pay via the Disneyland app to help limit your contact with others. You’ll get an alert when your order is ready, so kick back and relax while your food is prepared.

Tip # 7

Try the famous Dole Whip! You will thank me later. Clarissa was craving DOLE Whip after lunch. She pulled up the Disneyland app on her phone, she found the location, ordered and paid for it. She scheduled a 3:20p.m. pick up. (found at Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats) YES IT IS DELICIOUS!

  • Many items are served snack-sized, so you can delight in a variety of bites and sips from mid-day through the evening.

Tip # 8

Take advantage of the park shopping! My daughter and I found this warm and fuzzy hat and gloves for her sister Tori. We also picked up a Baby Yoda beanie and socks for Drew. We found these at Elias & Co. We love the huge selection there!

  • Must-Have Merchandise
    Browse to your heart’s content. Select shops will be open and carrying the latest and greatest gear, apparel and accessories.

Minnie was our inspiration for our, “Touch of Disney” outfits. She is our favorite Disney queen!

Enjoy the adorable photo ops throughout the park! Clarissa and I stopped to take a quick pic a this adorable backdrop.

Tip # 10

Take it all in… Enjoy, indulge, and spend quality time with your loved ones. It’s been a tough year, and it’s time to make new memories!

We had an extraordinary day at Disney California Adventure! The park was not overcrowded, and it was easy to maintain social distance. Mask wearing is strictly enforced.

We left with our hearts and bellies full… We can’t wait to visit again. ¡Muchisimas gracias Disney California Adventure por la invitación!

The War With Grandpa Press Junket- In Theaters October 9th

Last month my children and I got a first look at, “The War with Grandpa.” We also had a chance to chat with the sensational cast, to talk about the upcoming film that will be released October 9th!

We all can use some good laughs during these crazy times, and this movie will be released just in time for you to enjoy with your entire family.

Thanks to this hilarious film, my prankster son was inspired to stir up some more trouble in our multigenerational home…

Synopsis:

Sixth-grader Peter (Oakes Fegley) is pretty much your average kid—he likes gaming, hanging with his friends and his beloved pair of Air Jordans. But when his recently widowed grandfather Ed (Robert De Niro) moves in with Peter’s family, the boy is forced to give up his most prized possession of all, his bedroom. Unwilling to let such an injustice stand, Peter devises a series of increasingly elaborate pranks to drive out the interloper, but Grandpa Ed won’t go without a fight. Soon, the friendly combatants are engaged in an all-out war with side-splitting consequences.

Based on the award-winning book by Robert Kimmel Smith, The War with Grandpa is a hilarious family comedy featuring an all-star supporting cast: Christopher Walken, Uma Thurman, Rob Riggle, Cheech Marin, Laura Marano and Jane Seymour.

The Sleepover Is Now Streaming on Netflix

Are you looking for a fun family adventure to enjoy with your whole family?

Netflix has done it again!  I screened the new film, “The Sleepover” had me laughing out loud the whole time with this silly, but heart-warming story of a family and friends. They team up to defeat some bad guys. Also, I have to mention that hunky Joe Manganiello is in it, so this movie definitely has something for everyone to enjoy!

Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to meet the cast on an online Zoom meeting, and they were definitely a fun and lively group! 

Synopsis

In this family adventure-comedy, Clancy (Sadie Stanley) and her kid brother Kevin (Maxwell Simkins) discover that their seemingly normal stay-at-home mom Margot (Malin Åkerman) is actually a former high-end thief in the witness protection program. When both their mom and dad (Ken Marino) are kidnapped and forced to pull one last job with an ex-flame of Margot’s (Joe Manganiello), the siblings must team up to rescue their parents over the course of one action-packed night that they’ll never forget.​The Sleepover​is directed by Trish Sie (P​itchPerfect3​).

 Each actor’s character brought something unique to the film in their own fun way, so I was able to ask them how they related to their character and this is what they had to say:

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Movie Review

We often go to cheesy kid movies with our kids out of love for them. We pretend to understand everything they talk about, and to love everything they remotely care about because… that’s the motherly thing to do. Take Assassin’s Creed for example. Do I love Cal Lynch? Uh, well, which one was that again? But, If you ask my son what I think about Assassins Creed? He’ll say, “I love it.” That’s just what we do as parents. We adore our dang kids, and want to find things in common with them. But I have found that my son and I actually DO have something in common. We both enjoy movies! Earlier this month, we got a sneak peek of MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL.

My son loves Syfi, action, and comedy flicks. I love dramas, romcoms, and adventure films. Finding movies that bond our two loves, can be tricky. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, however, left us both on the edge of our seats, eager to see what was going to happen next. The movie itself sent many powerful messages. This twisted fantasy was everything I hoped for (and more).

Synopsis:

A formidable queen causes a rift between Maleficent and Princess Aurora. Together, they must face new allies and enemies in a bid to protect the magical lands which they share. In this movie, you will experience bold, cinematic visuals. My son pointed out that the women in the film were “fearless” and “unique,” just how a woman should be portrayed.

The mythology that goes along with the cast’s spectacular performance, fits into the list of Disney Classics perfectly. Angelina Jolie goes above and beyond to not only fit the physical qualities of Maleficent, but she also accurately portrays the emotional qualities of this complicated witch. Through the course of this film, the audience will learn the importance of confidence and individuality. As a 43-year-old woman, I felt unbelievably empowered by the portrayal of all the women in this film. My son witnessing characters like Maleficent, is extremely important to me. Quite frankly, it’s important for the development of all young boys. This film has no damsel in distress, has no woman dependent on a man, and that is what I like and expect to see more of in the future movie world.

BRAVO Disney! This movie is for all the women, and girls ready to be portrayed as the strong heroes that they are. Maleficent: Mistress of evil is now on my list of favorites. I’m so glad I got to watch it with my little guy!

Disney fans… This movie is a MUST-SEE!

I Like Scary Movies Experience In Los Angeles

As you all know, the GREATEST and SCARIEST time of the season is slowing creeping its ugly head upon us. Halloween, the Season of the Witch is close at hand. What does that mean, you may ask? Well, kiddies, tricks and treats, of course! I am here, today, in place of your favorite and lovely QueenLatinaBee to announce that I have one heck of a treat to share with you. Although this treat is not edible, it is sure to give your artistic taste-buds a MAJOR sweet tooth! This treat hails in the City of Angels. May I present to you, the one and only…. “I Like Scary Movies Experience”!

Being the HUGE GEEK of all things creepy and crawly, I jumped at the opportunity given to me to attend this blogger’s event. There was no way I was going to pass this up. I had the honor and privilege to attend this ghastly experience with the always beautiful undead queen of the underworld, @bekah. If someone told me a decade ago that the grooviest undead photo-op art experience would be created and opened to the public audience in Los Angeles, I don’t know if I would have believed them. In a world now where superheroes and Midichlorian-postive, lightsaber-wielding Force users are “THE COOL THING” to geek over, “I Like Scary Movies” Experience makes you question that logic.

I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather take a photo in the secluded, Cabin-fever mountains of the Overlook Hotel with the axe-murder victim Grady twins or in the nightmarish dreamworld of finger-knived bogeyman, Fred Kreuger. Heck, if you enjoy watching dancing clowns float or spending your summer vacation in the forest with a masked killer on the loose, “I Like Scary Movies” has got you covered. I had a HELL of a time (pun intended) at “I like Scary Movies”. The amount of time, effort and detail (by the artists) put into everything inside this experience is sure to bring shivers to your spine.


Everything at this experience is interactive and makes for the GREATEST photos and selfies ever! This ain’t no joke, Pennywise! Buy your tickets, today for this once-in-a-lifetime gem! You can thank me later, trust me. “I like Scary Movies” Experience puts the “KI KI KI”…. in “MA MA MA”!!!!

UglyDolls Is Now Available on Blu-ray and DVD

Last night in celebration of the UglyDolls Movie release on Blu-ray and DVD, we enjoyed a special movie night with our familia and our new adopted stuffed friends. Tori and Clarissa were thrilled to introduce this story to their little brother for the first time.

When mis niñas (my little girls) were little, they would snuggle up with their silly UglyDolls, and read the Ugly Guide comic books until lights off. They simply loved the adventures and humor of these adorable dolls.

About The Film
