The Marvels: A Cinematic Masterpiece that Defies Expectations
I recently had the privilege of watching “The Marvels,” and let me tell you, it’s not your typical superhero movie. In fact, it defies the very conventions of the genre, delivering an experience that is as unique as it is mesmerizing! Directed by visionary filmmaker Nia DaCosta.
“The Marvels” takes us on a journey through the multiverse, weaving together multiple storylines that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
The film seamlessly combines elements of drama, science fiction, and breathtaking visual effects, creating a cinematic masterpiece that challenges our perception of reality. One of the most striking aspects of the movie is its exceptional cast. Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers, and Teyonah Parris as Captain Monica Rambeau brings their A-game to the screen, delivering performances that are nothing short of extraordinary. Each character has depth and complexity, making you empathize with their struggles and triumphs.
There are also many purrrrrfect surprises and belly laughs that I know you will truly enjoy as much as I did.

This week, we got an early sneak peak of Black Panther: Wakanda forever. This all-new Marvel film will undoubtedly flood theaters today, because there is so much to look forward to.
After the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman, there was much speculation as to how the saga continue. To my pleasant surprise, the film adapted a new storyline that is creating a huge buzz among Marvel enthusiasts, and people of color. The Latinx community is overjoyed with the implementation of Namor (Tenoch Huerta), and the Mayan culture.

New Chilling Marvel Film: Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness
Earlier this week, we attended an early screening of Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness. This new Marvel Studios film takes audience on a wild ride and adventure as it takes us into different worlds and realms.
Legendary horror film director, Sam Raimi (Evil Dead) brings this comic book blockbuster to the big screen. This sequel is not your typical MCU movie, as it is full of fright and definitely on the darker side. As a huge horror film enthusiast, I was ecstatic to see a little gore and creepiness in a Marvel film.
This new film also introduces Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, a fan favorite from the Marvel comic universe. Drew and I love her!

Dr Stephen Strange casts a forbidden spell that opens a portal to the multiverse. However, a threat emerges that may be too big for his team to handle.
With not giving too much away, our beloved Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, is traumatized and faced with a decision that could destroy many. In the new film, Wanda no longer inhabits Westview, however, she continuously is visited by her sons nightly in her dreams. Every morning, she wakes up to her worst nightmare. The question is, what is this distraught mother willing to do for her family? (or not so real family)
Raimi’s signature style, kinetic camera work, and his dark and witty humor shines through in this unique MCU film. His work rarely disappoints, and this film is worth the spine chills.

Hawkeye Global Conference: Now on Streaming on Disney Plus!
Just in time for the holidays… Hawkeye, the limited series is coming to Disney Plus. This highly anticipated Marvel addition is bringing new talent to the screen (Kate Bishop). My kids and I are head over heals about streaming this over winter break. We are also stoked that Clinton Barton is back in the game…

SYNOPSIS
Two years after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Clint Barton must partner with Kate Bishop to confront enemies from his past as Ronin in order to get back to his family in time for Christmas.
BRANDON: And you also-you put them on the ground in New York city to film this. That brings an added level of authenticity, I think. Can you talk about that decision to film on location?
RHYS: I-you know, it’s-yeah, I mean, a-it’s, uh-New York’s very special to me anyway. I think, um, I was kind of a-a tyrant about, um, being as true to New York as we could. Um, nothing bugs me more than fake geography in movies, and-and, uh, fake texture and, uh-and so, yeah, d-I think it-it was given that we had to go there and-and get [our place in?]. It’s Christmas time in New York too. You want that real texture. Um, plus, we’ve got, you know, very human characters in the show as well, so I think anywhere that real world feel can-can breathe through the show, then, um, yeah, we had to take it.
BRANDON: I dig it. Uh, this comes from Jana Seltzer [PH], uh, with Whiskey Plus Sunshine, for Jeremy. Can you talk a little bit about Clint’s survival-survivor guilt from Avengers End Game and how it effects his character in the Hawkeye series?
JEREMY: Uh, you know, I-I don’t operate a, I guess, suppose it was survivor guilt outside just dealoss. Um, you know, there’s-and then, you know, there’s a lotta things that are lost. [LAUGH] You know what I mean? That’s-uh, it’s-it’s addressed in-in the show, which I think is, um-um, beautifully intimate. Um, and it brings our-our characters, um, closer together, um, as well as the audience, uh, I think. Um, there’s a-there’s a lotta weight that-that’s-that’s carried, you know. There’s-there might be a seemingly veneer of grumpiness, uh, in this resting face, right, in the show.

ALL: [LAUGH]
JEREMY: But it ultimately comes from just the weight and the-the horrors, and the-the tragedies and loss that-that come with the game. It’s managing losses, uh, is-is the superhero game, and, um, the lightness and brightness that-that, um, Hailee’s character brings in, uh, it kinda counteracts that and-and comes in and kinda get it to level-level out some. So, it’s-it’s pretty cathartic, and I think quite beautiful.

The God of Mischief has his very own new series. #Loki is NOW Streaming on Disney Plus! Drew and I took an early look at the first two episodes, and it will not disappoint viewers. The special effects, the storyline is just spectacular. I won’t give you any spoilers, but you gotta watch it!
We have a great fascination with Loki. Tom Hiddleston, ( I have a mad crush on him) masterfully portrays his character in this new series. Not only naturally, but intellectually. His character development is brilliant ! We can’t wait to see what’s in store in the rest of the upcoming episodes of Loki.
Marvel Studios’ “Loki” features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new Disney+ series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs “Loki,” and Michael Waldron is head writer.

Episode 1- “Glorious Purpose”
Loki is arrested by the Time Variance Authority when he creates a new timeline after escaping from the Battle of New York with the Tesseract in 2012. The TVA resets the timeline, and this “variant” Loki stands trial in front of Judge Ravonna Renslayer at the TVA’s headquarters for crimes against the “Sacred Timeline.” Loki blames the Avengers for creating this situation by traveling back in time, but Renslayer says their actions were meant to happen, unlike Loki’s escape
Episode 2- “The Variant”
Loki joins a TVA mission following an ambush by the fugitive Variant of Loki in 1985 Oshkosh,Wisconsin. He wants assurance that the TVA will let him meet the Time Keepers instead of disintegrating him, but Mobius figures out that he is stalling.

Clarissa and I recently stood in front of the new Avenger Campus to try to get and get a peek of their newest attraction. Clarissa, “Mom, I can’t wait to see it!”
So rumor has it that “Taskmaster” is a newest villain on the Avenger’s block. His gang is conspiring to infiltrate the Avengers command center. The Taskmaster has photo reflexes and can copy super hero moves. Black Widow, Iron Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel and others will be on high alert, keeping an eye out for danger.

Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios do whatever it takes to give movie and comic book fans the proper ending to an 11-year arc of its treasured universe with AVENGERS: ENDGAME.
Sure to be one of the biggest grossing films in both studios’ history, ENDGAME directly picks up after super-villain Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) iconic snap in Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Released nearly a year after Infinity War, Endgame doesn’t waste time getting to the heart of the most monumental questions: Where do we go, and what do we do after Thanos’ snap?
Earth is a now a completely new place for the Avengers team. The survivors, lead by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America (Chris Evans), are faced with challenging tasks–grieving and moving forward. Forward is a different direction for each of the surviving Marvel characters. Ultimately, a plan is devised that puts everything on the line in true superhero fashion.
Director-brothers Anthony and Joe Russo’s Endgame is a true gem. It is a nod to the truest Marvel fans, and a wink to the fans of the standalone Avengers movieverse. It’s not necessary to cram all 21 Marvel films into your Blu-Ray player in preparation, but it certainly gives you the chance to be nostalgic for all the moments that are timeless in the Marvel universe. Believe me, there are too many to count, and Endgame is the senior-year yearbook everyone is waiting for. Stan Lee would be proud.
Audiences have pondered all sorts of endings to this Avengers series, and in the end it is straightforward and complete. The journey of your favorite character may not be what you anticipate, but that is where Endgame’s humanity lies. Everyone lost someone after Thanos’ snap. Everyone will do whatever it takes.
Endgame will have its moments where you will laugh at a clever inside joke (the film is loaded with them) and in the next minute cry every tear you thought you had (there will be many times for that too).
It’s incredible to know that the end is near, as this arc ends with Spider-Man: Far From Home, releasing July 5, 2019. Disney and Marvel have a wealth of opportunity for the future. After all, the end is a new beginning.
